Zach

Three-year-old Zach loves to read, play board games and hang out with his little brother, Joey. When Zach was referred to Curative’s Birth to Three program, he was nonverbal, not able to walk
and made little eye contact with others.

Zach began working with Curative’s Family Service Coordinator, Laura, and Physical Therapist, Terri. Their first session was a huge success and Zach started walking that day. He went on to receive
speech therapy, occupational therapy and early childhood education.

Curative’s Occupational Therapist, Kim, is amazed by the progress that Zach has made. “At first he was just playing with his shadow, spinning in circles on the floor and not really engaging in any
type of play,” said Kim. “His parents did an excellent job making sure he followed through with the program and by the end, Zach was talking in phrases and able to communicate with his family.”
Zach’s dad, Brian, is thankful for the early intervention and help from Curative’s therapists and staff.

“I’m not trained in this area and as a parent there is only so much you can learn on your own,” shared Brian.

“The therapists knew what they were looking for and helped us get Zach up to speed right away.”

Zach now attends 3K and continues to receive speech therapy. “At our last evaluation, he met all of his goals at school and I am really happy with his progress,” shared Brian. “They set new goals for
the rest of the year and Zach continues to do very well.”
