Student Interns Gain Valuable Experience at Curative Care

Curative Care welcomes college-age student interns in various fields. These experiences offer an opportunity to directly observe and participate in valuable services that improve the function and quality of life for persons with disabilities or limiting conditions.

Curative Care interns must meet eligibility requirements and agreements with their educational institutions must be established. Curative does not offer stipends or pay for internships.

Available student internships

 

Birth to Three Services interns

Student internships are available with the Curative Care Birth to Three Services program for the field of early childhood special education.

College-age students interested in a brief job shadow experience are also welcome.

 

Birth to Three Services and Outpatient Therapy Services interns

Student internships are available through Curative's  Birth to Three Services as well as Outpatient Therapy Services at Curative New Berlin Therapies for the fields of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology (graduate degree programs). 

College-age students interested in a brief job shadow experience are also welcome.

 

Other internship opportunities

Curative Care will also consider internships in the following fields (on a limited basis):

  • Healthcare administration
  • Human services and social work
  • Information technology (IT)
  • Marketing/public relations
  • Vocational rehabilitation

College-age students interested in a brief job shadow experience may also be considered, as appropriate.

Student intern requirements

For the well-being of persons served by Curative Care, college interns must meet certain eligibility requirements before being assigned to specific areas.

The minimum age for an internship or volunteer opportunity at Curative Care is 18 years old.

After initial contact, the application process may include completion of an application form and an interview. Upon acceptance, background checks are performed on each intern for the states in which they have resided.

Each intern must show proof of a negative tuberculosis skin test done within the last six months. Some interns must also provide proof of immunization compliance.

Upon placement, specific training will be provided by the supervisor of the intern's assigned area.
