Curative's
Day Services programs support adults over the age of 18 in Southeast Wisconsin who are
developmentally disabled or brain injured. The programs help these
individuals develop the skills necessary to achieve the highest possible
level of personal and community independence.
Curative offers eight adult day care programs Monday through
Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at six community-based locations in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. Curative staff members provide a variety
of purposeful, goal-oriented opportunities that promote individual
independence as well as offer respite to caregivers.
Day
Services program activities enhance the quality of life, build
relationships, prepare for and provide paid work, meet personal interests
and leisure pursuits, provide for personal growth -- especially related to
self-advocacy -- and promote health and wellness.
Individuals
may choose daily program activities based on their interests and
preferences, or they may be assigned activities related to personal
program plan objectives. Typical activities may include classes such as
meal preparation, home care, gardening, safety, community outings, arts
and crafts and computer skills.
Depending on the needs of program participants, Curative's team members may include program coordinators, program specialists, activity specialists, certified nursing assistants, licenced practical nurses and an occupational therapist.
